Privacy policy
[DRAFT — written as a starting point, not legal advice. Please review it with a qualified advisor before launch, including how it meets India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).]
Last updated: [ADD DATE]
This policy explains what personal information Voice of Yogi collects, why, how long it is kept and how you can ask for it to be corrected or deleted. We collect as little as possible.
Who we are
Voice of Yogi is run by [ADD YOUR FULL NAME], [ADD YOUR CITY], India. For any privacy question or request, write to [ADD CONTACT EMAIL].
What we collect and why
Contact form. When you send a message we collect your name, email address, the type of enquiry, your message, the date and time, the page you sent it from, your consent, and — only if you choose to give it — your phone or WhatsApp number. We use this only to reply to you. A spam check (Cloudflare Turnstile) runs when you send the form; it is designed to tell people from bots without tracking you across websites.
Newsletter (if you subscribe). Your email address, and the date you subscribed, are stored by our newsletter provider, [ADD PROVIDER NAME], to send you the newsletter. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
Visit statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It does not use cookies and does not identify you personally.
WhatsApp. If you message us on WhatsApp, that conversation is handled by WhatsApp (Meta) under its own privacy policy.
We do not sell, rent or share your information for advertising, and we do not send your enquiry by email to anyone.
Where it is stored
Contact-form messages are stored in a private database hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. Only the site owner can open it, after signing in. Our hosting and analytics provider (Cloudflare) and newsletter provider process data on our behalf and may store it outside India.
How long we keep it
Contact-form messages are deleted automatically after 12 months, or sooner if you ask. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you can ask to:
- see a summary of the personal information we hold about you;
- correct or complete it;
- have it deleted;
- withdraw your consent (this does not affect what was done before you withdrew it);
- nominate a person to exercise these rights on your behalf.
To make a request, or to raise a concern, write to [ADD CONTACT EMAIL]. We aim to reply within [ADD NUMBER] days. If you are not satisfied with our reply, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
This website is meant for adults. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to contact us for you.
Cookies and your browser
The site does not set tracking or advertising cookies. It remembers a few small choices only in your own browser (for example, that you closed the announcement bar or paused the breathing animation); this information is never sent to us. YouTube videos load from YouTube only after you press play.
Keeping your information safe
The database is protected by a login that only the site owner can pass, and data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
